Hi, thanks for visiting. A little about me. I was born in Des Moines, IA and raised in rural Northwestern Iowa. I graduated from University of Iowa in 2017 with a BA in Psychology and graduated in May 2020 with my MSW. I met my now husband in the summer before my senior year in undergrad when I was working as a beer cart girl at a local golf course. He was the assistant golf pro, and we became fast friends and began dating as I returned for my senior year. After I graduated we moved in together and I began working at a local community mental health center. In October 2017 we got engaged right before a Hawkeye football game, GO HAWKS! We started foster parent classes shortly after and became fully licensed in January of 2018. In July 2018 we accepted respite placements two weeks in a row and I fully believe these were to prepare us for first long full time placement on July 26th, 2018. At some point maybe I will write the story of that placement, we loved that little one for 19 months in our home. We were married in September of 2018 at the same place we met two years prior. Recently we’ve moved South Dakota and purchased our first home together.
